Learning about Jordan

We were very lucky to have Jood's Mum and Dad come in and teach us about the country they are from, Jordan. We learnt that Jordan is a long way away from New Zealand- you have to fly on an aeroplane for many hours to get there.

We learnt that even though Jordan is a smaller country than New Zealand, there are more people- nearly 10 million! This means that the people need to live in houses called apartments. Apartments can fit lots of people in a small space.

We learnt that there are snakes in Jordan, but no fish, as the country has no sea surrounding it, only other countries.

We learnt that people in Jordan speak a different language called Arabic, and have a different alphabet from us. This is the Arabic alphabet:

Then we got to eat some special Jordanian bread- we thought it was different to the foods we usually eat, but really yummy.  Some of us wanted more and more!

Thank you Hisham, Abeer and Jood for teaching us about your beautiful country. We really appreciate you taking the time to come in and teach us new things!
