High frequency words are words which are used most often in reading. These words become increasingly difficult as your child masters each reading level.
Reading these words should become automatic- your child will learn to look at the word and recognise it instantly without the need to sound it out. You can help this process by going over the words with your child- pointing out the word in stories, using flashcards, playing word snap, memory or bingo.
